THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Stations of the Cross, by Gib Singleton, is a series of fourteen bronze sculptures, providing a spiritual art experience as they walk the viewer through the last hours of Christ’s life. Provided by The Hutchison Foundation, they were last displayed at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, enabling our congregation to focus on the importance of the death of Christ during the season of Lent. Heart of the City Foundation wanted to grant this same gift to another congregation and was able to secure a place for them at Central Presbyterian Church in New York City, who gladly welcomed the beautiful sculptures. On February 27th, Central Presbyterian Church held a grand opening for the viewing of the Stations of the Cross. It was a wonderful evening and those in attendance were blessed by the heart-engaging art work. In God’s sovereignty, Gib Singleton passed away just a day later, February 28, 2014. Gib leaves behind a legacy of beautiful art focusing on the life of his Savior. We thank God for his faithfulness, and encourage you to stop by Central Presbyterian Church and see the exhibit.
